The Big Rail Diversity Challenge
As an industry-wide Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion forum, Rail Unites for Inclusion (RUI) is committed to fostering a healthier and more inclusive railway which is reflective of our customers and communities so that we can better serve them. With over 600 members spanning over 100 organisations and over 2,300 followers on our RUI LinkedIn, we bring together people from all corners of the rail industry—from TOCs, FOCs, and the supply chain to government and external experts—to drive meaningful change.
A more diverse and inclusive workforce is fundamental to the future of rail. The Big Rail Diversity Challenge (BRDC) aligns perfectly with our mission by encour1aging teamwork, collaboration, and cultural change—all while highlighting the importance of inclusion. We’re also pleased that BRDC is designed to be inclusive of the diverse workforces within the industry, and activities have been reviewed to ensure as much accessibility as possible for participants, emphasising the importance of providing meaningful roles that enable everyone to contribute.
By participating, RUI reinforces its commitment to listening, learning, and leading in making the railway a place where everyone belongs. We are excited to stand alongside Women in Rail and the wider industry in championing this meaningful event.
