We own, operate, maintain, and develop the railway infrastructure across England, Scotland, and Wales, supporting one of the largest and most complex rail networks in Europe.
Our network includes over 20,000 miles of track, 30,000 bridges, tunnels, and viaducts, along with thousands of signals, level crossings, and stations. We also manage 20 of the UK’s largest railway stations, while more than 2,500 additional stations are operated by train operating companies.
Our purpose is to connect people and goods efficiently and safely, helping drive economic growth and supporting the strategic objectives of the UK and Scottish Governments.
