Alstom
The Big Rail Diversity Challenge
With 37 locations and 6,000 employees, Alstom is the UK and Irelands leading supplier of new trains and train services, and a leading signalling and rail infrastructure provider. Alstoms facility in Derby is the only train factory in the UK able to design, engineer, build and test trains for domestic and export markets.
Alstom have built, or are building, just under 40% of the UK mainline train fleet; as well as the entire fleets in service with London Underground and Dublin Luas. Half of all UK rail journeys are made on an Alstom train, while its portfolio of smart products is the widest on the market.
Alstoms commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) is testament to the companys values and they are determined to build a culture that respects and values differences, fosters inclusion and promotes equity at all levels of the organisation. Alstom is not just broadening its knowledge and perspectives, but also contributing to creating a more equitable, diverse, and inclusive environment for its company, employees, customers, suppliers and the community at large.
Participating in the Big Rail Diversity Challenge, alongside such a wide range of companies and customers in the UK rail industry, is a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved. Will both genders in each team perform roles perceived as non-traditional or will the challenges highlight particular abilities? What a way to find out!
